Grace and Peace

Date: Wednesday-11-May-2022
Cherubim and Seraphim Church Unification Campus Fellowship A daily scripture exposition. Wednesday, May 11th, 2022 Philemon 1:3 NLT May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace. Grace and peace In his letter to Philemon, Paul used two words that connote greeting in two different cultures. These words were 'charis' and 'shalom.' The former translates as grace while the latter translates as peace. So, why did Paul used both? It was probably because of the heterogeneous nature of the church that met in Philemon's house. The word 'charis' pertained to Christians of Greek extraction, while 'shalom' must have resonated with the Christians who were Jews. Aside from ensuring that everyone in the church had access to the letter, the letter's content, without a shadow of a doubt, fostered unity. Beloved, let's use every avenue at our disposal to engender unity among brethren. Prayer O Shepherd of Israel, please let the Holy Spirit always remind me to use every avenue to foster unity among brethren. In Jesus's name, Amen.
